Can you punch a logo for leather?
Leather does not behave like pique. A polo file dropped onto a jacket will look stiff, chew the surface, or leave needle holes that never close. The punch has to be written for hide from the first underlay.
What changes in the file
We drop density, shorten stitch lengths on satins, and keep underlay light so the needle is not perforating a zipper line around the mark. Tiny counters and hairline outlines are the first details we flag — leather magnifies them.
What to send the desk
Artwork, the finished size, whether the leather is garment-weight or a patch, and a note if the piece is already assembled. If you only have a shirt file, say so. We would rather rebuild than watch a borrowed density map scar the hide.
