Why cap embroidery digitizing is its own file
Shops search “hat embroidery digitizing” after a left-chest DST is hooped on a structured crown and the design drifts, puckers, or looks undersize. Caps need center-out sequencing so the crown stabilizes as it sews. Compensation that works on pique looks wrong on buckram.

Size, puff, and visors
Most structured fronts sew comfortably around 2 to 2.25 inches tall and about 4.5 to 5.5 inches wide, depending on the blank. Low-profile and unstructured hats have less usable height. 3D puff needs bold letters; foam will not wrap thin script.
Visors, truckers, and beanies are separate placements with their own height and curve. Side and back marks are their own tickets.
How to brief a cap punch
Send the artwork, finished height if you have a house limit, structured vs unstructured, puff or flat, and the machine format. If the same logo also goes on polos, say so — two files, one vector.
